Who carries Blue Cross Blue Shield
Blue Cross Blue Shield is the most widely carried commercial plan in the Salt Lake Valley. Locally it is usually Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Utah, but if you work for a national employer headquartered in another state, your card may carry a different state's Blue plan and still work here through the BlueCard program.
Either way, the Blue card in your wallet is the one to bring. Our office checks your specific plan and benefit level before your first appointment so there are no surprises on the statement.

Where to be seen
Allergy injections are given during walk-in shot hours. No appointment is needed for a shot, but plan to stay 30 minutes afterward.

Blue Cross Blue Shield questions we get
My BCBS card is from another state. Can I still be seen?
Usually yes. Blue plans participate in a national program that lets members use in-network providers outside their home state. Call us with the member ID from the front of your card and we will confirm before you come in.
Do I need a referral from my primary care doctor?
Most Blue PPO plans do not require one to see a specialist. Some HMO and narrow-network products do. Checking takes one phone call and we are glad to make it.
Are allergy shots covered?
Allergen immunotherapy is a covered benefit on most Blue plans, though your cost share for the testing, the extract preparation, and the weekly injections can differ. We give you an estimate before you start rather than after.
