Who carries EMI Health
EMI Health is a Utah nonprofit and the longest-standing benefits provider in the state. It covers a large number of school district employees, municipal workers, and small and mid-sized Utah employers. Older cards may still say Educators Mutual.
If you work for Jordan, Canyons, Granite, Alpine, or Nebo School District, there is a good chance your medical card says EMI Health. Our Draper, West Jordan, and West Valley City offices sit inside those district boundaries, which usually means a short drive rather than a trip downtown.
Many EMI groups are self-funded, so benefits differ from district to district. We check yours specifically.
Conditions we see every day
Seasonal & year-round allergies
Sagebrush, kochia, Russian thistle, juniper, cottonwood, grass, mold, dust mite, cat and dog.

EMI Health questions we get
I work for a school district. Can my kids be seen too?
Yes. Children on your plan are covered the same way you are. Skin testing can be done at any age, and school-age children are the group most likely to benefit from an asthma action plan on file with the school nurse.
Will you send an asthma or food allergy action plan to my child's school?
Yes, and we do it routinely. Bring the district's form or we will supply ours, and we will fax it directly to the school nurse.
Can allergy shots work around a teaching schedule?
Shot clinics run on set weekday hours, which is genuinely difficult during class time. Tell us your schedule when you book and we will talk honestly about whether immunotherapy is workable for you before you commit to three to five years of it.
๐ก๏ธ Before you start immunotherapy: we recommend calling your plan to verify benefits for allergy extract preparation (CPT 95165) and injections (CPT 95115 / 95117). Our staff is happy to walk you through it โ call 801-965-3550.
