Allergy & asthma care for MHBP members

Board-certified allergy and immunology, with same-week appointments at our Draper, West Jordan, and West Valley City offices.

Not sure whether your specific plan option applies? Call us with the member ID on your card and our staff will verify your coverage before you book.

Who carries MHBP (Mail Handlers)

The Mail Handlers Benefit Plan is a Federal Employees Health Benefits option carried by many postal workers and other federal employees and their families.

In the Salt Lake Valley that includes staff at the USPS processing and distribution facility and at postal stations across the valley. Our West Valley City office is the closest of our three to that facility.

Postal work is hard on the airway. Dust, paper, diesel exhaust, and temperature swings on a dock aggravate asthma and rhinitis, and that is worth evaluating rather than living with.

What We Treat

Conditions we see every day

Seasonal & year-round allergies

Sagebrush, kochia, Russian thistle, juniper, cottonwood, grass, mold, dust mite, cat and dog.

Asthma

Diagnosis with spirometry, control plans, and biologic therapy for severe disease.

Skin testing, an extract mixed for your own sensitivities, then weekly injections.

Food allergy & OIT

Testing, oral food challenges, and oral immunotherapy for peanut and tree nut allergy.

Drug & penicillin allergy

Testing and supervised challenges to clear an outdated label off your chart.

Chronic hives & eczema

Work-up for chronic urticaria, angioedema, and difficult atopic dermatitis.

Common Questions

MHBP (Mail Handlers) questions we get

Could my symptoms be coming from work?

They can be. Work-related asthma and rhinitis are real and under-diagnosed. A useful clue is whether you feel better on days off or during vacation. Bring that history to your visit โ€” it changes the work-up.

Can I schedule around shift work?

Tell us your shift when you book. Shot clinics run on set weekday hours, so if that collides with your schedule we will talk through whether immunotherapy is realistic before you start it.

Do I need a referral on MHBP?

FEHB plans generally let you see a specialist directly, but plan options vary. We confirm before your appointment.

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Before you start immunotherapy: we recommend calling your plan to verify benefits for allergy extract preparation (CPT 95165) and injections (CPT 95115 / 95117). Our staff is happy to walk you through it โ€” call 801-965-3550.

Ready to stop guessing what you're allergic to?

Same-week appointments at three Salt Lake Valley locations. We'll verify your MHBP (Mail Handlers) benefits before your visit.
