Who carries Deseret Select
Deseret Select is one of the medical plan options administered by Deseret Mutual Benefit Administrators for employees of Church-affiliated organizations.
It uses a defined provider network, so the practical question for most members is simply whether the specialist they want to see participates. Call us with your member ID and we will confirm before you book.

Conditions we see every day
Seasonal & year-round allergies
Sagebrush, kochia, Russian thistle, juniper, cottonwood, grass, mold, dust mite, cat and dog.
Asthma
Diagnosis with spirometry, control plans, and biologic therapy for severe disease.
Allergy shots (immunotherapy)
Skin testing, an extract mixed for your own sensitivities, then weekly injections.
Food allergy & OIT
Testing, oral food challenges, and oral immunotherapy for peanut and tree nut allergy.
Drug & penicillin allergy
Testing and supervised challenges to clear an outdated label off your chart.
Chronic hives & eczema
Work-up for chronic urticaria, angioedema, and difficult atopic dermatitis.
Where to be seen
Allergy injections are given during walk-in shot hours. No appointment is needed for a shot, but plan to stay 30 minutes afterward.

Deseret Select questions we get
How is Deseret Select different from the other DMBA options?
The options differ mainly in network breadth, premium, and how much you pay out of pocket. Your plan documents in the DMBA member portal spell out the specifics for the current plan year.
Do I need a referral to see an allergist?
Requirements vary between DMBA's plan options. It takes us one call to check, and we would rather make it than have you arrive to a surprise.
Can I switch plans if this one does not cover what I need?
Plan changes are generally made during DMBA's open enrollment in the fall, or after a qualifying life event. DMBA can tell you what applies to your situation.
